”Ī”Ī”Ī CHINESE LANGUAGE TRAINING PROGRAMS”@”Ī”Ī”Ī ”@”@”@”@”@”@”@IN THE REPUBLIC OF CHINA Information on Application for Resident Visa to the Republic of China Eligible Persons Foreign nationals, who hold passports or travel documents issued by foreign governments with validity of more than six months, and who intend to stay in the R.O.C. for more than six months to engage in the following activities: 1. Joining family 2. Study or research 3. Employment 4. Investment 5. Medical treatment 6. Missionary work 7. Other legitimate activities Requirements 1. Two duly completed application forms; 2. Documents verifying the purposes of stay in the R.O.C. ”@(1)Joining family: Documents verifying relationships, such as certificate of birth, marriage, Extract of Household Registration, Alien Resident Certificate, etc. ”@(2)Study:{1}Admission or certificate of enrollment issued by a university/college accredited by the Ministry of Education; {2}Certificate issued by an accredited Chinese language school verifying completion of four months of study and matriculation for another course for at least three months. ”@(3)Employment and Investment: Official letter of approval from a competent authority of the R.O.C. ”@(4)Medical treatment: Certificate of hospitalization from a medical center, quasimedical center or regional hospital in the R.O.C. ”@(5)Missionary work: Curriculum vitae, letter of invitation from a church in the R.O.C. and a list of foreign missionaries presently working for the church. 3. Two photos. 4. Letter of guarantee in duplicate. Visa Validity 1. For foreign nationals from the countries with which the R.O.C. has ”@entered into reciprocal visa agreement, the validity of visa shall be ”@decided in accordance with the said agreements. 2. For other foreign nationals, visa is valid for three months unless ”@otherwise stipulated. Duration of Stay Foreign nationals may stay in the R.O.C. as long as the Alien Resident Certificate remains valid. Fee 1. For foreign nationals from countries with which the R.O.C. has entered into reciprocal visa agreements, visa is issued free of charge. 2. For other foreign nationals, visa fees are as follows: ”@Single entry:-N.T.$900 ”@Multiple entries:-N.T.$1,000 Remarks 1. Unless otherwise stipulated, all applications for Resident Visa received by R.O.C. missions abroad must be referred to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for approval. 2. Resident Visa holders are required to apply for an Alien Resident Certificate at the city or county police headquarters within 15 days after arrival. 3. Resident Visa holders are not permitted to accept employment in the R.O.C. without prior approval.
