If you answered "yes" to any of these questions, the International Student Leadership Network may be the developmental opportunity of your lifetime.
The International Student Leadership Netwrok(ISLN) is the newest program created by Metro International, the official coordinator for Fulbright scholars in the metropolitan New York area, and the unofficial"pulse point" for international students studying on New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut campuses.
To maximize the leadership experience, the ISLN is a self-directed program.
At the start of each program year--with the guidance of experienced metro program staff--the student members of the ISLN determine their particular leadership interests and developmental needs, as individuals and as members of the grous. Student members apply their talents to individually developed projects or a larger group project.
The ISLN program begins in the fall, and activities run during the school year through May.
But the things you learn--about leadership and about yourself--and the contacts you make will last a lifetime.
Membership in the International Student Leadership network is provided without charge to qualifying students, although members will be asked to cover travel, lodging, and meal expenses for some activities.
You must apply for membership and be able to demonstrate a sincere interest in leading others, through a position in a student organization or through similar activities with informal groups.
Ask your foreign student advisor for an international student leadership network application, or contact Metro International at 212-431-1195.
